Exhibition "Entre haut et bas reliefs" by Emmanuel Gavillet

11.2018 - QUEST FOR DIVINE LIGHT ON CREATION, FROM GASTLOSEN TO NORDAUSTLANDET, VIA NORWAY AND ICELAND

Emmanuel Gavillet began his career at the School of Applied Arts in Vevey (1986). His diploma as a photographer in his pocket, he carries out photographic work several times in Norway, in Iceland and Gastlosen. His works, initially focused on the mainland with "Histoire d'un people of legend" (1997), then move towards the ocean depths where he fixes on the film the treasures of the sunken wrecks of Iceland and Norway. This work will be the subject of several exhibitions including "Naufrage du temps" (2000) and "Pourquoi-pas" (2002).

In 2010, the Gruyère Museum will exhibit its 8-year work on Gastlosen, which will also include the subject of a book and a film (Argentica Montana 2010).

2015, with Daniel Rohrbasser, Emmanuel Gavillet goes on an expedition to the north of the Spitsbergen, Nordaustlandet. "The ups and downs" of this initiatory journey have given birth at this exhibition.
