10 Years Three Shadows Award Exhibition

03.2018 - From 24 March to 23 May 2018 the 10th Three Shadows Photography Award Exhibition will take place at the Three Shadows Photography Art Centre in Beijing. The exhibition is open daily except Mondays from 10:00 - 18:00. The opening of the exhibition and the announcement of this year's winners will take place on 24 March from 4 p.m. local time. ALPA supports the Three Shadows Photography Art Centre in the exhibition.

The Three Shadows Photography Art Centre was founded in 2007 by photographers RongRong and Inri as a space for the search, production and exhibition of contemporary Chinese and international photography. It consists of a library, a darkroom and an exhibition hall. There was nothing of this kind in China before.

From the very beginning, Three Shadows has earned an international reputation as China's leading institution for contemporary photography. It cooperates with a growing number of domestic and international museums and cultural organisations. The main building designed by Ai Weiwei consists of three galleries. Since 2015 Three Shadows has another site in Xiamen, Fujian Province.

Three Shadows also runs an extensive training program and an artist-in-reidence program for international photographers at the Beijing site. Cooperation with other exhibition organisers is also international. In addition, the annual "Three Shadows Photography Award" offers a platform for numerous young and talented Chinese photographers.
